Modesty Blaise
Modesty Blaise first appeared in 1965 in the
novel of the same name, and Blaised (sorry) her way through several
more novels, a film and a series of newspaper cartoon strips. She
is an ex-master-criminal recruited by the Secret Service to work on
the side of law and order. Drop-dead beautiful and possessing an
enormous fortune, she nevertheless chooses to spend her time
travelling to exotic locations to dispatch bad guys with the help
of a few well-aimed karate blows, her faithful sidekick Willie
Garvin, and an array of gadgetry that would make Q raise his
eyebrows in disbelief.
